Staging is an exact copy of your site, on a hidden address, where you can break whatever you like — without a single real visitor seeing it. If your site brings orders or leads, this is not a luxury.
Why it exists
Because every change is a risk: a plugin update, a new theme, a checkout change, new code. Live, your clients pay for the mistake. On staging — nobody does.
When it is mandatory
- Major updates (WordPress, WooCommerce, payments)
- Design or structure changes
- A new plugin touching payments or delivery
- Before every holiday campaign — you do not test on Black Friday
How it works in practice
- 1. From cPanel (or through us) a copy is created in a minute
- 2. You work there: update, change, break, fix
- 3. You test EVERYTHING: homepage, forms, cart, checkout, emails
- 4. You push the changes live — or throw them away if you did not like them
Traps to know
- Google must not index it — staging needs a password or noindex, or you get duplicate content
- Do not send real emails from staging — test orders can send confirmations to real clients
- Careful with payments — use test mode, not a real card
- Do not work in two places at once — adding products live while editing on staging means the push will overwrite them
With us
We create staging for clients whenever there is a bigger change — and it is a standard part of maintenance for stores. The rule: the bigger the site, the less you may experiment live.
